Firefox download counter

Firefox has had over 46 million downloads!

I’ve been meaning to add a link on my blog to the Spread Firefox site for a while, and today I noticed that Download Counter was back and with a feed! I had a quick look at the WordPress plugin, but both Infocraft’s Firefox Counter and SFX@CP.NET’s Firefox Download Counter caught my attention. A few hours later I had my own cross-breed Firefox Download Counter using Infocraft’s javascript and Martin’s images.

Edit: There’s even an mrtg graph showing number of downloads per second!

    i’m a firefox user.
a question: firefox updates are counted as a “new” firefox download ?
if so, i think the downloads are less than 50%.
    am i right ?
    thank you

The counter does not count downloads made via the automatic-update service. Of course if you’ve manually downloaded the new version then yes it’s counted as a new download. Even so what about all the copies of Firefox that have been downloaded once, and given to friends, burnt to cover disks, made available on local network drives, etc…
